The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence
between Rev. G. S. Kennard and friends and members of his family between the
1890s and the 1930s. The collection also
contains photographs, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, a book of handwritten
sermons, and other miscellanea covering a time period from 1847 to 1979. In addition the collection contains two 1861
letters (one written by M. Shelby Kennard to his wife, Mary; the other written
by Mary Kennard to M. Shelby) and a handwritten Thanksgiving sermon believed to

collection by Eugenia Kennard Seay of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The collection was processed in 1986 by Drew Beisswenger and Tina De Lashmit. The detailed indexing and website finding aid were completed by Kim Halpain and Judy Blackwell in 2002. The collection is open for research.
