The Regional Studies Center at Lyon College strives to preserve, present, and interpret the history and culture of the Ozark region and its surrounding areas. The Regional Studies Center promotes scholarship, collects materials relating to the region's history and folklife, and coordinates activities that enhance the public's knowledge of the Ozark region and surrounding areas.

Special collections include the John Quincy Wolf Folklore Collection, the Stroud Collection of historic papers, the Craig Genealogy Collection, the Folklore and Oral History Collections, the Presbyterian Collection, the Kennard Collection, and collections of rare books and historic photographs. The Regional Studies Center also serves as caretaker for the Grigsby House, a nineteenth-century cabin on the Lyon College campus.

The Regional Studies Center also has an extensive collection of regional books, periodicals, newspapers, maps, and genealogical materials, as well as the Lyon College archives and a collection of materials related to the history of Lyon College.
