Heist those windows we pass through,
Heist those windows we pass through,
Heist those windows we pass through,
Oh, I love you, Susie Brown.
I love you, my pretty miss;
Don't go home without a kiss.
Sashay center as we pass through,
Sashay center as we pass through,
Sashay center as we pass through,
Well, I love you, Susie Brown.

(Mr. Ash: "I made a little mistake there . . ."

Dr. Wolf: "Now, how do you play that?"

Mr. Ash: "Let's see, two hold hands thisaway, you know, kind of like you . . . choose to have a pull, 'needle's eye, the death supply, the thread that runs so truly, and all the lads that I went past because I wanted you,' and then they grab one like this, and they say, 'What do you want, beans or corn.' One side will be beans, and the other one corn. Well, if it's corn, probably your side will put his hands around you, and he can get behind, and the next one puts his hands around them and gets behind, and then when you get all ready, well, everybody pulls 'til they break the two that's hanging together this way apart. And whichever one breaks first wins."

Mrs. Ash: "But that's the game for 'needle's eye.' That is from the needle's eye. But they heist the windows, when they holler "Heist those windows," why, they all put their hands up, and there's one couple that has been chosen Susie Brown, and her couple, they heist their windows and they go through and, uh, then when they go, the last girl through, why most generally it's a kissing game, just like post office. The last one gets kissed."

Dr. Wolf: "Now, what about that sashay part?"

Mrs. Ash: "Well, they go backwards and forwards around like that 'til they go through. The girl goes through, just like that, a man . . . only, they don't hold hands, they just circle through kind of like a miller boy, you know.")
