(Mr. Detherow: "In this they ring up and the boys pass the girls right and left 'til they meet one another, and they swing once and a half.")

Oh, rise you up, my dearest dear, present to me your hand;
I'll march you in possession of the far and distant land,
And the hawk that shot the buzzard
     and the buzzard shot the crow;
Rally in the canebrake to shoot the buffalo.

And they shoot the buffalo, and they shoot the buffalo.
Rally 'round the canebrake to shoot the buffalo.
And they shoot the buffalo, and they shoot the buffalo.
Rally 'round the canebrake to shoot the buffalo.

(Mr. Detherow: "Now this is repeated over and over as long as they want to play it.")
