Oh, that girl's a-been a-fooling me,
Fooled me all the while.
She's been a long time fooling, fooling;
She's been a long time fooling me.

She fooled me once;
She fooled me twice;
She fooled me all the while.
She's been a long time fooling, fooling;
She's been a long time fooling me.

Oh, that girl's a-been a-fooling me;
She fooled me all the while.
She's been a long time fooling, fooling;
She's been a long time fooling me.

(Mr. Detherow: "Now, that can be repeated all the time. In this play, the boys goes across the hall, to swing the opposite girl, and she turns her back on him and fools him, and then they promenade the left all around. And then the next time, the same thing is repeated, and each girl fools him; she fools him all the while. That's about the best I can do with that. They just repeat that over and over.")
