A little girl was dying;
She called her father near,
And in his arms reclining,
She whispered in his ear:

Chorus: “I’m going home to Glory,
A golden crown to wear.
Meet me, oh, meet me.
Father, meet me over there.”

Her father was no Christian;
His sins were unforgiven.
He could not, as she begged him,
Rejoin her up in Heaven.

(Chorus)

The angels came and took her,
The angels God did send.
They bore her up to Heaven;
She whispered as she went:

(Chorus)

Her father gave his heart to Jesus,
Who took his sins away,
And now in Christ believing,
The father too can say:

“I’m going home to Glory,
A golden crown to wear.
Meet me, oh, meet me.
Friends, meet me over there.”
