In a cool shady nook by the side of the brook,
Two maidens set fishing alone.
They talked as they fished,
And the youngest girl wished
For a lover she never had known.
The oldest girl said, with a toss of her head,
"Cheer up; there's no cause to be blue.
Your love you've not met,
But he'll come to you yet,
For someday, you'll met somebody
Who loves you true.
Someday, you'll meet somebody
Whose heart beats true,
For somewhere, somebody's waiting
For you, you, you."
