Young people who delight in sin,
I'll tell you what has lately been.
A lady who was young and fair
Was lost in dark sin and despair.

She'd go to frolic, dance, and play,
In spite of all her friends could say.
"I'll turn to God when I get old,
And he'll receive my soul, I know."

One Friday morn she was taken ill.
Her stubborn heart began to fail.
"Oh, must I burn forever more,
Ten thousand years roll o'er and o'er."

She called her mother to her bed.
Her eyes were rolling in her head.
"Oh, earthly mother, fare you well.
My soul is lost; my doom's in Hell."

She called her father to her bed.
Her eyes were rolling in her head.
"Oh, earthly Father, fare you well.
Your wicked daughter screams in Hell."

"Young people, hear my dying words.
Take warning from my dying words.
I could have escaped this hellish plain,
But now I'm doomed to an endless doom."
