On the fourteenth day of April,
Not far up in the year,
Titanic left its landing
With ten thousand bottles of beer.

The ship had left its landing,
Far out on the deep blue sea,
When I spied an iceberg floating.
It was floating directly towards me.

Captain called to the watchman
To rise and come to life,
And rescue his darling baby,
Also his darling dear wife.

Well, the watchman must have been drinking
And, knowing that he’d done wrong,
In trying to make the rescue,
He let the Titanic go down.

String bands were on the boat playing,
Far out on the deep blue sea,
When they spied the Titanic was sinking,
Sung, “Nearer, My God, To Thee."

Among . . .
And drifted to the golden west,
A-telling a sad, sad story
Of sixteen hundred at rest.

A little girl stood wondering
If Mama had gone to stay.
Perhaps they'll invent something,
And raise the Titanic someday.
