Stopped at a roadhouse in Texas,
A place called Hamburger Dan's.
That old jukebox was playing
A tune called 'Truck Driving Man.'

The waitress, she brought me a cup of coffee.
I thanked her, and I called her back again.
I said, “That old tune just suits me.
I am a truck driving man.”

I ordered another cup of coffee,
The best that's in the land,
Dropped a nickel in the jukebox
And played ‘The Truck Driving Man.'

I climbed aboard my old semi,
And like a flash, and I was gone.
Got those big wheels a-rolling
On my way to San Anton.

When I am called up to glory,
When I am called to leave this land,
I’ll drive this old truck up towards heaven,
For I am a truck driving man.

I ordered another cup of coffee,
The best that’s in the land.
I dropped a nickel in the jukebox
And played ‘The Truck Driving Man.’
