Well, Price come dashing down the road,
With a horse with a sweeping pace,
And when he heard of McCulloch's death,
The tears rolled down his face.

Chorus: Who’s Price a-fighting?
Somebody, I do know.
It surely is the Federals,
For I hear their cannons roar.

Well, he jumped stumps and scattered fence,
All day he did not dread,
For all the lay upon his mind
Was a little lump of lead.

(Chorus)
